If you live anywhere near this place, I envy you. This is some of the best fried chicken and jambalaya I’ve had outside of New Orleans. 8 Chicken Strips, Jambalaya side, mozzarella sticks, and a sweet tea for ~$25 plus tax. This is easily two meals. All of the flavor is amazing. Chicken is well-season and not dry at all. Breading is crunchy. Special shout-out to the Jambalaya, which ACTUALLY tastes like Jambalaya. I’m only in the area for work, but if work brings me nearby again, I’d be happy to come back by. 😋
I ordered the hot honey buffalo wings and fries, and they were honestly some of the best wings I've ever had. They were extremely crunchy, despite being covered in sauce (apparently they make the batter in-house). I used the fries to soak up every last bit of sauce in the basket. My server (Luke?) was incredibly attentive. Wings took about 15-20 minutes to come out, but they were more than worth the wait.
The food was incredibly fresh and juicy! I got the 3 tenders and waffle and my boyfriend got the 3 whole chicken, fries, and cornbread. Everything was really good and recommend coming here. I thoroughly enjoyed the customer service, atmosphere, and customer service. The only downside is one of the owners are an eagles fan, go cowboys!
loved the food here! i got fried pickles, a fried chicken sandwich, and fries…the sandwich was amazing and very good mac!! very much worth going and trying it out. only thing was the owner talked disrespectful to his daughter a few times in front of everyone, she served us in the beginning and was very kind! It was just awkward lol
Was at the convention center and needed a a quick lunch. This is close proximity. Ordered the chicken strips expecting average chicken strips and fries. I was overly impressed with fresh chicken fried in a delish Cajun coating and the portion size…oh the portion size… could definitely feed 2 people! Glad I made the stop.
Soooo while out enjoying family day with my husbae and the kids, we stumbled upon Side Chick. BABY!!!!!! This food was so good, we couldn’t even finish in one sitting. Shout out to the waitresses for good customer service and DEFINITELY to the cook for good food. We will definitely be back.
It's a 4.5 out of 5 for me food was fresh and hot. I got the 6pc Hot honey with Mac & Cheese sweet tea and my wife got the whiting plater with cajun fries with lemonade, everything was hot and fresh with no wait but I will say the 0.5 was lost for me was the ranch it wasn't the best but overall the food was great and when I come back to Richmond again I will come back
**Do not miss this Southern comfort food Richmond gem** Where do I even begin? We loved our experience at Side Chic. Don’t overlook this small, family-owned spot serving excellent Southern comfort food in Richmond. Lou treated us like family, and the chicken tenders with hot honey buffalo sauce were outstanding. I’ll seriously be thinking about that cornbread for a very long time. The playlist was great, and the cheeky chicken-themed decor added a lot of personality. I ate there for lunch an hour ago and would go back tonight if I could—it was that good.
This place really hit the spot. I ordered the hot honey Cajun chicken wings and they were so delicious. Perfectly seasoned with good amount of heat. There were some other flavors I would love to try so I’ll definitely be coming back for them! We also tried the bang bang shrimp, Mac and cheese, fried pickles, and chicken sandwich which all were mouthwatering!
If you want the best fried chicken and Mac and cheese EVER...definitely go to this establishment! Seriously, I can not say enough good about their sauces and perfectly cooked chicken!! The chicken was bigger than the texas toast!!! Also the macaroni in the Mac and cheese is PERFECTLY cooked and it has the BEST flavor. Lou is an awesome server/owner/cook!! You will not be disappointed, I promise!
